Cold spring in NY

I had a few free days in NY before we started guiding, so we decided to do some scouting for the season. Its been a long, cold winter out here and it's not quite over. Daytime temps right at freezing, snow, slush in the rivers. We caught a couple fish, but mostly found out where the fish aren't. I was in a black+white mood all day.

I landed one fish and Ryan one, but his fish was camera shy. Above is a different fish, from another day, but caught in exactly the same spot. And it was black and white, so it fits.

Ice in the guides at 3 in the afternoon.
